About me

Well, hi there! I’m Cara. At the age of 39 I walked out of my cushy corporate job, sold my home and a bunch of my stuff, and bought a backpack and a one-way ticket to Zagreb, Croatia. A very loose (read: no) plan turned into seven months of solo travel through seven countries (plus a spectacularly unplanned land purchase in Indonesia) (!)

When my flip flops finally wore through, I returned to Canada and launched a new career as a writer. Years later, I’m grateful (and more than occasionally astonished) to still be living my two passions: writing and traveling.

I never returned to corporate life, never purchased another home, and continue to purge my belongings.

I  hope you’ll follow along on the adventure!
